Welcome to Diaz 4 Treasurer
I am a fourth-generation resident of Garfield County and a graduate of Rifle High School. In 2014, I was elected to the Silt Board of Trustees where I was selected by my colleagues to chair the Silt Urban Renewal Authority. In 2020 I earned a Master of Public Administration degree with an emphasis in policy analysis and analytics, with course work in Crisis Management and Organizational Change. I have worked in public policy and politics for nearly 30 years with experience at the federal, state and local levels, I have worked in both the public and private sectors, and I have owned my own consulting business since 2010.
My Plan for the Treasurer's Office
The Treasurer's Office is an administrative office. It should not be influenced by partisan politics and it should be focused on delivering the most efficient and courteous service to the residents of Garfield County. The staff of the Treasurer's Office work closely with many of the other county offices. To offer the best customer service we need to invest in the staff of the Treasurer's Office to implement the best, most modern, management practices and invest in staff career development and training to ensure they are informed on all current practices, regulations and laws, as well as cross-trained to understand how to effectively work with other county offices. This will increase retention and reduce costly staff turnover.
Sticking to these principals, I will do the following:
“You don't always see a Republican and a Democrat supporting a single candidate for office, but Aron is that candidate."
Karla Bagley (R) and Georgia Chamberlain (D), former Garfield County Treasurers
The Duties of the County Treasurer

2. Is the county official charged with reviewing investment opportunities for county revenue to maximize their growth while held by the county.
3. Is empowered by state statute to review assessed property taxes to ensure equitable taxation supported by the voters—NOT SPECIAL INTERESTS.
4. Acts as the Public Trustee responsible for the fair and equitable administration of foreclosure auctions. 1. Has the duty of tax collection. These collected revenues are distributed to the municipalities, school districts, and special districts throughout the county.
My Pledge to You
"As your County Treasurer I will work every day to ensure that the stewardship and investment of the County's tax dollars are a statement of our shared values, absent of partisan cronyism, and with respect for all Garfield County residents."
